We started GCMH because we saw a need for accessible educational support.
I am Saül Nataël Dora, a civil engineer and land surveyor (Topographer). In 2011, I worked
for many construction companies such as: HL Construction S.A, Caribbean Construction, Moterc
S.A, and many other companies, as well as for Haitian government officials.
I grew up in a family that knows the good Lord; my father was a very courageous and very positive pastor with an extraordinary dedication to helping the underprivileged, the poor, and orphans, which made me an heir to his hospitality. God did great things for me; He gave me the opportunity to know Him, the opportunity to grow and study in my beloved country of Haiti, which I love so much, and to work as an engineer, taking good care of my small family, including 12 other underprivileged children whom I took under my responsibility. Most of them are orphans who were left in the streets to beg for money from passersby.
I was able to take these children under my responsibility after I dreamed of my father, who came to speak to me in my sleep. He told me, 'Don't forget that God gave you a good job, but always give a tithe of what God blessed you with, and remember those who have nothing.' Eventually, the children who used to come and ask me for money to buy bread because they had nothing, I took four of them in. God showed me how to take care of them. Three years later, I took in other children whose parents were killed in the wave of insecurity in Haiti; they shot them. I took in eight, making a total of 12 beautiful children who were in the streets. God put it on my heart to help them. And God didn't abandon me along the way, because he saw that I wanted to help the 12 children with a true heart that had love for them. So, a friend of mine who was working at Food for the Poor told me that God put it on his heart to give me food for the children every month, and that's how their expenses became more manageable for me.
I had a piece of land in Delmas 75, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and I agreed with my wife to build a house to put all the children in. So I started stocking materials. But the gang members came and demanded a lot of money, and I fled the area I was building in. Ten months later, they shot up my car with many, many bullets. I stopped [construction]. God didn't let them kill me, but they made me pay a lot of money for that. I fled and took refuge here in the USA, and then I sent my wife and my two sons to the Dominican Republic.
Today, my heart is breaking because I couldn't send the 12 children somewhere else, and now they are suffering. My work in Haiti is not finished. God wants me to return to continue helping them. The same God who saved Noah and his family in the flood is the same God we serve. God will protect me. I don't feel comfortable leaving them, and I won't abandon them, because God will never abandon me. My conscience is revolted, my heart is breaking for them. I love them, and it is with them that God will open a ministry, because each of them has different talents. I believe God will open all doors for me and them for this ministry to succeed. For that, I can't do it alone anymore, because everything has gone up [in cost], but with God's help and your support for [project name], the children will have a better life. They will be able to go to school for a good education, and to church to learn who God is, so they don't do the bad things they see happening before their eyes. That's how God will make GCMH the biggest project realized with the 12 children I took to remove them from violence. They will become ambassadors who will preach and tell the story of where they were and where God brought them.
